Williamstown Psychology was established by Melbourne psychologists Camille Folley and Fiona Lacy. Operating in Williamstown since 2000, the practice has continued to expand and grow.
Williamstown Psychology receives a high number of referrals from medical and health practitioners in the Western suburbs of Melbourne and beyond. Williamstown Psychology now incorporates several associates, each experienced psychologists who offer their skills and training in counselling, psychotherapy and psychological approaches to treating a range of complex issues.
Our psychologists have many years of training and experience in counselling agencies and private organisations prior to working in private practice, and continually update their skills and knowledge. All our psychologists are fully registered with our registration board (AHPRA) Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency.
Our psychologists are registered with Medicare and Private Health funds. Medicare offers rebates for up to 10 sessions per year if the client is referred by a GP and is placed on the Mental Health Plan (at the GP’s discretion). Most Private Health Cover funds offer rebates for psychology treatment under their Extras packages; please check conditions with your private health fund. If claiming through Medicare, the gap fee cannot be claimed through your private health fund. Rebates can be obtained from Medicare or Private Health Funds, not both at the same time.
Williamstown Psychology is sensitive to the individual needs of clients from diverse backgrounds including culture and religion, gender, age and ability, and sexual identity & gender identity. We are proud to have been providing psychological services to the LGBTIQ+ community in the West and beyond for over 20 years. The practice is founded on a high level of attention to professional ethical issues, following the ethical guidelines of the Australian Psychological Society and the registration requirements of AHPRA.
