Apurva is a registered psychologist. She holds a Masters degree in psychology. She has experience providing psychological support for individuals, families and organisations, and enjoys working with adults, adolescents and children. Apurva has particular interest in working with clients needing assistance with anxiety disorders, depression and mood disorders, LGBTQIA+ and gender identity, relationship issues, and cultural issues.
Apurva enjoys working with LGBTQIA+ and gender diverse clients to address various issues such as self-acceptance and exploration, family acceptance, identity, transitioning, and social difficulties. She also has experience working with clients from multi-cultural backgrounds addressing issues such as cultural identity, “culture shock”, language barriers, and social acceptance. She is fluent in three languages (English, Hindi and Marathi), and is happy to carry out sessions in any of the three languages if preferred.
Apurva adopts a person-centered approach with her clients while utilising a range of therapeutic frameworks, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and Relaxation, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivation Interviewing, and psychoeducation. Her style as a counsellor is respectful, calm and compassionate, and she believes in offering a safe and judgement-free space to help clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves. She aims to guide clients to work through difficult feelings, situations and challenges, and help them move toward achieving greater wellbeing, as well as to live a value-driven and rewarding life.
