Garth Bennett

B.PsySc.(Hons), MPsych (Counselling), MAPS

Garth is a Registered Psychologist. He holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science with Honours and a Masters of Counselling Psychology. Having worked in universities, pain rehabilitation, and crisis support, Garth is experienced in providing psychological treatment and counselling support to a diverse range of clients of all ages, genders, backgrounds, and cultures. Specialising in the treatment of chronic pain conditions, Garth also has experience working with clients needing assistance with depression, stress, anxiety, social anxiety, phobias, addictions, emotional distress, relationship difficulties, feeling stuck and making life changes, and fostering greater health and well-being.

From a biopsychosocial evidence based perspective and in collaboration with his clients, Garth utilises a person-centred strength based and solution focused counselling approach. He can provide Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness and Relaxation, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), psychoeducation, and hypnotherapy. Through these modalities, Garth works with his clients to help them through life difficulties and traumas, discover who they are and be in tune with what they value, to thrive and ultimately live more satisfied lives.
