Vivienne has been practicing as a psychologist since 1994 and has worked in private practice and within educational settings at primary and secondary level. She has extensive experience working with adults, children, adolescents, on a broad range of issues such as grief and loss, anxiety and depression, trauma and stress.
Vivienne has a particular interest in assisting children and adolescents (and supporting their parents) as they respond to issues such as: transition and change, bullying and peer issues, school refusal, anger and disruptive behaviours, family and relationship issues, educational performance and achievement, and concerns regarding personal growth and development.
Vivienne’s counselling orientation includes cognitive behavioural approach with the influence of positive psychology and a desire to achieve satisfaction and fulfilment in life; and an interest in mindfulness as a means to gaining insight into ourselves and managing stress and anxiety. Vivienne’s orientation is driven by the belief that her role in the counselling process is to assist clients to gain the life skills that will empower them to manage their challenges and relationships, as well as celebrate their achievements and gifts.
